A Private photography walk with a local.

Uncover real Coimbra.

I'll guide you through narrow medieval streets, where Romans walked like it was theirs, where later António Salazar, the man behind the longest-lived dictatorship in Europe, strolled with similar demeanor, and further through newer neighbourhoods where the real owners, the people, quietly carry on. Where you can unmask the real Coimbra.

Find things that will interest you as a photographer.
We'll walk through oldest part of Coimbra, gardens where you'll find a lot of nature, and newer neighbourhoods so you can photograph regular life.
Walking only. Estimated distance 6km.
Coimbra is built on a hilly terrain, thus get ready for a lot of climbing up and down.
Discover many “hidden” areas – unlikely to find on you’re own.
You'll visit 3 main sites, where you can freely explore around as a photographer. Baixa, Santa Clara, and Botanical gardens.
The photo walk is private
On this private walk you can bring up to 3 friends or family members. That means that I can fully concentrate on helping you in getting the right images and tailor the experience according to your needs.
Bring any kind of camera.
Digital SLR, mobile phone. If you unsure about kind of camera is suitable, read this blog post.
Kids and pets are welcome.
It's a lot of walking, yes, but we can manage even if your kids are young. On our way between locations, there is a lot of interesting places for kids, too.

Walk and explore Coimbra like a street photographer.

A private photo-walk with a local.

You traveled that far to find yourself in Coimbra, to notice differences, beauty, to be surprised without trying.

Now use this state to take photographs. Not pictures but photographs.

That is why so many photographers travel around the word exposing, not only camera's sensors, but themselves to the unknown.

And sometimes you need a local guide that will welcome and help arrive.

Book the private photo-walk with me and we'll immediately go to the right places at the right times, some well-known, others unlikely to find on your own.

Strolling around the backstreets of Coimbra, we'll talk about creativity like old friends. Golden hour in Coimbra tells the story of this old city with great history better than shallow words in an ultimate tourist guide to Coimbra.

You'll walk with your camera around 'secret spots' and classic places that everybody visits in Coimbra but with one difference: I'll suggest you angles that not many know about.

It's all about an angle, you know. Your personal angle, because the most creative angle is you. It is your unique way of seeing.

Let me tell you...

It's time to flirt with life and to let the life flirt back. Notice anything that feels beautiful, no matter how big or how small.

No matter how sofisticated or silly.

Stop, notice, take a picture.

Romanticise your life and let this energy guide you.

You'll improve your skills and see Coimbra through a photographer's lens.

I share 25 years of my photography experience — from streets and studios of Eastern Europe, London, and New York as a portrait photographer to orange rocks of Spain as a rock climbing photographer — to help you see this city like a pro.

Different light, different architecture, different human behaviors (if you like to tell stories through people). Many things to notice and take pictures of. And some places look better in pictures, too.
